Extra-Curricular Music at EMC
EMC Band is open to all String, Woodwind, Brass and Percussion players from all year groups. We rehearse on a Monday lunch time and our repertoire ranges from jazz to pop to film music. Previous performance pieces have included ‘Fireworks’ by Katy Perry, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, ‘Set Fire To The Rain’ by Adele and ‘It Don’t Mean A Thing’.
EMC Choir is open to singers from all year groups. Whether you simply enjoy singing in the car on the way to school or if you have been in productions and shows at school, EMC Choir welcomes you. We have performed in assemblies, at the Leominster Christmas Light Switch on and take part in Sing Spring (A Hereford wide singing scheme) every year. We sing a variety of songs but mainly stick to modern pop songs (sometimes with a twist). Recent performances have included ‘Human’ by Rag and Bone Man, ‘Valerie’ by Amy Winehouse’ and ‘Titanium’ by Sia.
Year 10/11 GCSE Music students join together on a Friday lunch time to create EMC Jam Band. Students have been working on a variety of pieces from rock, pop, metal, funk and soul.
Flute Choir work together to perform pieces for our Annual Christmas Concert. Students from all year groups develop their ensemble skills when learning to play Christmas Carols.
String Ensemble work on pieces during a Monday lunch time to prepare pieces for the Christmas and Summer Concert.
Students are able to book out the rehearsal rooms for use on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday lunch time. Students are able to bring their own instruments in as well as use the instruments within the department such as drum kits, guitars, ukuleles and keyboards.
