Student of the Month & Excellence Award (September)This has been awarded to Rhianna Lewis in recognition for her positive start to her yr12 studies. She will receive a Certificate, £10 gift voucher and name engraved on the trophy, well done! 


16-19 Discretionary Bursary Fund

This is a fund provided by the Education Funding Agency to support sixth form students in financial hardship. After assessment categories of support include  educational resources, field trips, transport and meals. Payment of the Discretionary fund is dependent on good attendance and progress.


National Citizenship Service.

The National Citizenship Service are offering a once in a lifetime opportunity available to 15-17 year olds.  If you are interested please register on www.ncs.ppdg.co.uk


Sixth Form College Ambassadors

It gives me great pleasure to inform you about our Sixth Form ‘College Ambassador’.  The ambassador role includes assisting with future staff appointments, public speaking and assisting with relevant College events. The successful candidates include Alex Bates, Kane Austin Davies, Rhianna Lewis, Daniel Morgan, Katie Powell, Samantha Poyner, Lewis Silvester, Kiara Smith, Ben Thompson, Thomas Walton, Sarah Ward.

Leadership & VolunteeringA number of students have signed up to a minimum of 1hr a week leadership and volunteering experience of their choice for the Autumn Term.  Some have opted for assistance in the community whilst others have chosen to help in subject areas including teacher assistants, study buddy, coaches, learning mentors and more! 

University Applications

Students who have expressed an interest in applying for University will participate in the College UCAS support programme. Parents have already received a letter and parental guide whilst the students will attend sessions during tutor time to assist with their application process.  Further information can be found at: www.ucas.com. The deadline for completed applications is 11th Dec.


Dying 2 Drive event

Our Sixth Form students participated in the multi-agency road safety initiative at Leominster Police station.  The purpose of the initiative is to educate with the view of reducing the number road traffic collisions involving young people.



Mentoring programme

Every half term students will engage in the sixth form individual mentoring programme.  Form tutors Ms Wilkie, Mrs Moczulski and

Mr Maddock and their tutees will discuss individual targets, academic progress, revision, UCAS, careers, enrichment and subject reports.


Careers Advice InterviewsYear 13 students will participate in  their Careers interview this half term with our Careers Advisor Mike Hughes.  Students also completed their career pathway and development plan 2017/18 during their induction day


Yr13 Successful results 2018

Earl Mortimer College & Sixth Form Centre students achieved successful results in their level 3 BTEC National programmes. Distinction rate was up to 12% with over 50% of the cohort having now progressed onto university.  All other students have successfully acquired training or employment opportunities.
